In preparation for the “Global Game Jam” in January, 2022, I played with a tune that I titled “Joyful Jam.”
This is a moderately cheerful tune, primarily electronic, with a few organic instruments in the second half. The electronic background uses samples from the wonderful Elysion 2 VST library.
This track also uses a few other sample libraries, Arkhis for a pad sound, and “Infinite Woodwinds“, developed by Aaron Venture. From 0:39 to 0:59, I combine three woodwind instruments–flute, clarinet, and alto saxophone–to produce a generic woodwind sound. From 0:59 to 1:19, I use the bass flute. Then, from 1:19 to 1:58, I use the trumpet from the Infinite Brass library. I just love the two Infinite series from Aaron Venture; they are so playable, and yield wonderful results.
So, what does this tune have to do with a game jam? I wanted to make the track loopable. So, the track really ends at time 1:58; it continues a few more seconds and fades out, simply to demonstrate how the loop cycles through.
